Dorkbot Cardiff

I gave a talk today on my artwork for the Dorkbot Cardiff sect of Dorkbot. It was a fun evening, with lots of cool 'Dork Talks'. I feel that the presentation, despite my nerves, went well and was a good advert for CSAD. I'm told that a lot of people are going to come to our degree show in June.

I will try to get hold of a video of my presentation from the 'Head Dorks' so that i can post it on here!

Space

Today our spaces for the show were debated over and confirmed, I was lucky enough to be gifted the space that I wanted. Much the same as other people in my group. Everybody seems high spirited and cannot wait to get started on clearing out the studios.

Yesterday we all presented our work to eachother and a small group of first years so that we were all aware of eachothers requirements and what exactly we were all doing. This was a fantastic day and really helped in getting everybody excited for the degree show and this has shown in the massive increase in enthusiasm today.

My piece has been fully mocked up during this time, all that needs doing to it is a little fine tuning to get the sensors to operate in the way that I intend them to.

Here is a sneak preview of my contribution to our exhibition catalogue, which was taken today!

I also took some other pictures of the piece in addition to this which i would like to share with you!

Piece is now in the studios

My final piece is now in the studios,

after frantically cleaning up the second year space all day, i was able to set my lights up in preparation for PAT testing, They were arranged side by side and when turned on, they formed a wondrously bright white square on the floor of the space, i thought this was fantastic so i had to record it:

I also stood my frames up in the space to get an idea of
how they could look. My answer? fantastic!

Expect more images in the run up to my degree show!
